V. B. (Tripp) Atkins III, Attorney at Law
Tripp Atkins is a seasoned trial attorney based in Greenville, South Carolina, with nineteen years of experience representing clients in divorce, separation, child custody, adoption, and other complex family law matters. Over the course of his career, he has participated in many trials in South Carolina Family Courts, handling cases that range from high-conflict custody disputes to the division of complex marital estates, and the defense of parental rights in abuse and neglect proceedings.
Before joining a national family law firm as a Senior Litigation Attorney, Tripp founded and managed his own family law practice for more than 14 years and taught family law as an adjunct instructor In Greenville Technical College’s Paralegal Studies program.
Recognized by both peers and the community, Tripp has been named Best of the Upstate for Family Law by readers of The Greenville News and included multiple times in Greenville Business Magazine’s Legal Elite for Family Law. He also writes and presents on South Carolina family law topics.
Beyond the courtroom, Tripp is an avid sports fan and lifelong Clemson Tigers supporter. He spent nearly a decade coaching tournament baseball and remains actively involved in his children’s athletic and academic pursuits. Married to his high school sweetheart, he is a devoted husband and father. Tripp is active in his church community, where he serves as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and several other leadership roles.
